Oblong cucumber shaped with a warty looking exterior light green in colour.
Internally there is a hollow cross-section, with a thin layer of flesh.
Flesh surrounds a seed cavity filled with large flat seeds and pith.
Skin is edible and is crunchy and watery in texture.
Select firm, unblemished melons that are from 12 to 30 cm in length.
Choose those that are still green for a more bitter flavour and a yellow - orange melon for a milder taste.
