General Description:

Artichokes are delicious vegetable that has flavour, texture and also provides many nutritional benefits as they are packed with antioxidants.
Artichokes have been known as a food that aids digestion since the 16th century.
Jerusalem artichokes are not botanically related - despite their name.


Selection:

Select artichokes with tender green heads without any brown patching.
With large varieties - Before eating - the hairy 'choke' between the head and the leaves must be removed.

Storage & Handling Information:

To store slice off a small width off of the Artichoke stem, sprinkle the raw stems with water. 
You can then refrigerate them in an airtight plastic bag.
Ideally try and cook them within five to seven days from purchase.
