Also known as papaya.
Large edible berry containing many seeds in the hollow core.
Skin is pale to deep yellow once ripe.
Flesh is orange / red and firm.
Flavour is similar to a rockmelon.

Choose sweet smelling, unbruised paw paws free from deterioration such as black spots.
During the year paw paws may have markings resembling freckles on the skin these are ok & do not affect the flesh.
