Eggplant - Black Baby
Variety Description:
Also known as Italian Eggplant.
Is longer and thinner than the Black Bell variety.
It has a shiny, purple-black skin with delicate and tender flesh.
Selection:
Look for eggplants with smooth and uniformly-coloured skin.
When squeezed, they should be springy, not spongy.
The presence of scars or bruises can indicate decay.
Favour eggplants that feel heavy for their size.
