Rough serrated leaf pineapple.
Sweet with fragrant golden flesh.
Not as juicy as some smooth leaf varieties.
Pineapples do not ripen further once harvested.

Avoid green pineapples as they will not be sweet.
Also avoid those with soft or dark spots and mould.
A ripe pineapple will usually have a pleasant fragrance.
Ripeness can also be determined if one of the green spikes can be removed easily from the crown.
