Pear - Beurre Bosc
Variety Description:
Unique shape with a long tapering neck and a long stem.
Skin colour can range from a deep yellowish-brown to dark tan and bronze russet marks.
The flesh is dense and crunchy.
Well suited for poaching as it will keep its shape.
When ripe a bosc will yield to gentle thumb pressure around the stem.
Selection:
When choosing pears, look for fruit that is firm, smooth and unblemished.
