Variety Description:
Large full-flavoured onion.
Covered by a brown papery skin surrounding white flesh.
Well suited for cooking & usually turn dark brown.
Selection:
Choose onions that are clean, well shaped, very firm to pressure with no discolouration of the skin.
There should be no openings at the top or sprouting
Avoid onions with soft spots or dark patches.
