Variety Description:
Member of the rose family.
Very similar to peaches without the fuzzy skin.
White fleshed varieties are usually smaller than red fleshed varieties.
Skin is usually deep red in colour.
Flesh is white and juicy, surrounding a slightly smaller seed.
Selection:
A good nectarine will have a healthy appearance consistent with the variety.
Avoid cut or bruised fruit.
A ripe nectarine will give to gentle pressure.
